Amoy Street’s Ding Dong, one of Singapore’s more creative modern Asian restaurants, recently welcomed new Head Chef Miller Mai and refreshed its menu with a host of new dishes.
Start your culinary exploration with the Kuih Pie Tee, a light and refreshing ode to chilli crab, with fresh herbs and a mild citrus tang. Accompany this with the wonderfully-spiced Steak Tartare, slathered thickly on a slice of homemade onion bread – quite delicious.
Continue with one of the excellent larger plate meat dishes like the Lamb Shank, served with Sauce Merah and Chickpea. This melt-in-the-mouth creation is the result of 12 hours of careful braising, delivering a fantastic rich hearty flavour. Also bursting with flavour is the kitchen’s tender Beef Short Rib, served with Buah Keluak and Wingbean Salad.

Finish your meal with another Singapore sensation, the Durian Alaska, which may convert any durian doubters out there to finally fall for this prickly delicacy. Throughout your meal, keep the juices flowing with a cocktail or two from Group Bar Manager Joe Schofield’s Asian-inspired ‘Not So Lonely Planet’ drinks menu – our pick is the Cong Sa, a blend of lemongrass, ginger, mint, citrus, tequila and soda. Enjoy!
