Andaz Singapore’s Inaugural Mooncake Collection – A Tribute To Tradition

heralds the arrival of the Mid-Autumn Festival with the launch of its inaugural Andaz Baked Mooncake Quartet Collection, available for sale from 1 August to 24 September 2018 at SGD 73 nett. An early bird discount of 25% is available for purchases made before 31 August 2018.

Carefully crafted with the finest ingredients, the Andaz Baked Mooncake Quartet is the brainchild of Executive Chef Soren Lascelles, who drew inspiration from Singapore’s heritage and tradition to recreate these classic flavours – Low Sugar Pandan, Low Sugar White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Low Sugar Green Tea Lotus Paste and Mixed Nuts (Wu Ren).

Guests with a penchant for innovative baked mooncakes can enjoy the Low Sugar Pandan, inspired by Andaz Singapore’s namesake Pandan chiffon cake. Paying homage to Singapore’s iconic “national cake”, the Low Sugar Pandan is a traditional baked mooncake featuring a lotus paste blended with natural pandan juice. Since these delectable goodies are lower in sugar content, guests can indulge in them without the usual guilt that comes with the season’s treats.

In addition to the Low Sugar Pandan mooncake, this year’s mooncake launch also includes other exquisite creations such as the fragrant Mixed Nuts (Wu Ren) Mooncake and Low Sugar Green Tea Lotus Paste. Using a variety of premium nuts such as walnuts, almonds and macadamia, the Mixed Nuts mooncake guarantees a perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavours with every bite. Instead of the usual candied orange peel, the Andaz Singapore version uses sweetened persimmons, which lends a tart sweetness to the mooncake. The delectable Mixed Nuts mooncake does not contain any lard or pork, making it a suitable option for vegetarians.

Matcha fans will be delighted by the Low Sugar Green Tea Lotus Paste mooncake. Pairing perfectly with Chinese tea, this mooncake combines the distinct bittersweet taste of premium matcha powder with handmade lotus paste, creating an innovative and distinctive blend of new and familiar flavours.

Presented in a rustic pinewood box with a clear acrylic top, every gift box contains four individually-packed mooncakes, each adorned with traditional floral motifs in a deep red metallic finish.
